Swansea City ready for more transfers

Despite the Premier League new boys already making three signings, Brendan Rodgers is ready to bolster his squad more before the new season begins.

The Championship playoff victors have already signed Danny Graham, Jose Moreira and Steven Caulker this summer, but the departures of Dorus de Vries and Darren Pratley bring the team to balance.

Swans boss Rodgers has his eyes set on a target, telling the South Wales Evening Post: “I felt from the start we needed five or six signings and we have brought in a few, hopefully in the next two or three weeks, we will add that bit of depth.”

The Welsh side had a £2m bid rejected for Middlesborough’s Leroy Lita and Marvin Emnes but are expected to return with an increased offer.

Swansea open their Premier League campaign against big-spenders Manchester City on August 15.
