Gorka Pintado has left Swansea City by mutual consent, after the two parties agreed to have the final year of the striker’s contract cancelled.
The Spaniard arrived at the Liberty Stadium from Granada in 2008, scoring nine goals in 80 appearances. However, the forward has seen only 19 minutes of first-team action since the takeover of current manager, Brendan Rodgers.
“I’m sad to leave. I have had a happy three years here,” the striker commented.
Pintado has had bad luck with injuries over the past three years, suffering cruciate ligament damage as well as shoulder injuries on a number of occasions.
The 33 year-old spent the second half of last season on loan to Cypriot side, AEK Larnaca, and could return to Cyprus on a permanent basis.
