Swansea boss, Brendan Rodgers, is hoping that Nathan Dyer will soon agree to sign a new contract with the Welsh outfit.
The manager will be striving to keep a hold of last season’s ‘Supporter’s Player of the Season’, and is optimistic that the midfielder will soon sign a new long-term deal, as he enters the last year of his contract.
However, there is speculation that Dyer could follow ex-teammates Darren Pratley and Dorus de Vries by leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Rodgers spoke to the South Wales Evening Post, stating:
“Having spoken to Nathan, I know he felt last season was the best season of his career. He knows the areas where I think he can improve on what he did last season, the areas that can add more value to him as a player.”
The Swansea manager stamped his intent to hold on to Dyer, ading: “Hopefully we can find an agreement on a new contract because Nathan is not a player we want to lose.”
