Matt Taylor is understood to be undergoing a medical at Upton Park before completing his move from Bolton Wanderers.
With Taylor about to go into the last year of his contract at the Reebok Stadium, West Ham offered £2.2m for the midfielder’s services, which Bolton decided to accept.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle felt the bid for the 29 year-old was too good to turn down, telling the Bolton News: “Matty will feel it’s a good deal for him and we feel it’s a good deal for the football club.”
Coyle was complimentary of Taylor during his time at Bolton, commenting:
“Matty Taylor is a great lad. I’ve got so much time for him and he goes with our best wishes. We’ve loved working with him, but sometimes in football things move on, people move on to pastures new.”
