Great Britain will be hoping to get their opening victory of the Men’s Football at the London Olympics when they take on UAE on Sunday evening as bookmakers Paddy Power expect another flurry of free bets offers for punters on the football.
Stuart Pearce’s men were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening fixture of course. Despite Craig Bellamy handing them the lead, they were pegged back late on and had to settle for a point.
It was far from a disastrous start, but going into the final group game against Uruguay, Great Britain need three points and nothing less this weekend.
There is no doubt that it is a bizarre atmosphere around the Team GB football team and there was a mixed reception for some of the players at Old Trafford during the week.

In terms of standout players for Team GB, Bellamy was always a threat and Joe Allen – who has been heavily linked with a move from Swansea to Liverpool – showed his class in midfield. Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey looked more than at home when he replaced his fellow countryman too.
Overall, it was a typical opening performance of a tournament from a British team. There was promise, hope and frustration all rolled into one. This weekend’s match is now massively important if Pearce’s men are to progress from the group.
With regards to the opposition, UAE are a team many know very little about and Great Britain will have to be wary of the unknown factor going into this one.
Taking place at the City of Coventry Stadium, this is a game Great Britain must win and although they go in as favourites, they will have to improve in many areas from the opening game of their London 2012 campaign.
