Ten players that could be in the Premiership next season

Neymar could be on his way to the Premiership with City apparently having a first option on the youngsterThis year’s transfer window could see some of the world’s brightest young talents including Neymar and Romelu Lukaku head to the Premiership in the summer. In addition, more experienced players such as Luis Fabiano and Maarten Stekelenburg have been strongly linked to moves to England.

Many are expecting Chelsea to step up their efforts this summer in trying to sign Brazilian Neymar from Santos after failing with a bid last year. The highly regarded youngster has been compared to Pele and Robinho and would be the perfect signing for an aging Chelsea squad. The West London club have also shown interest in Anderlecht forward Romelu Lukaku but will face stiff competition from a host of clubs including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool if they want to land the Belgian. For a 17 year old, his scoring record of 25 goals in 54 games is mightily impressive.

Promising forward Conor Wickham currently plays for Championship side Ipswich but it seems it’s only a matter of time before he moves to a Premiership side. The 17 year old is regarded as one of the finest talents around and has attracted the interest of numerous Premiership clubs. Southampton winger Alex Chamberlain is also highly sought after. The explosive winger has been tormenting defences in League 1 this season and it is believed that Arsenal came close to signing the 17 year old in January. It is widely expected that Southampton will find it very hard to keep hold of their youngster this summer.

One player that looks likely to be in Premiership next season through promotion from the Championship is QPR’s Adel Taarabt. The attacking midfielder has a real X Factor about him and people will be looking forward to see the flamboyant Moroccan grace the Premier League next season. Jay Bothroyd could make a return to the Premiership if Cardiff are promoted this season and will be determined to improve on his past performances in the League.

Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg could be on his way to England with Manchester United keen on signing the Dutch goalkeeper. The 28 year old has played nearly 200 games and is seen as the ideal candidate to replace the retiring Edwin Van der Sar at Old Trafford. Tottenham could finally land Luis Fabiano this summer after the Brazilian revealed that he wants to leave Sevilla at the end of the season. If he does come to the Premiership, then the League would have one of the most deadly finishers in the world.

Gabriel Milito and Diarra are both out of favour at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively and they could fancy a move to the Premiership to seek first team opportunities. If they are interested, then there are plenty of clubs who would line up to sign the experienced duo.
