All the talk at the moment is about the battle between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy and which one of these two players – who are regarded as the best in the world – can come out on top here.

McIlroy started the year as world number-one, but his poor form and the fact that Woods looks back to his near best has meant that the American has moved back onto top spot and he is now the 9/2 favourite to win his fifth Masters title.

The Northern Irishman can certainly challenge the favourite if he plays some of his best golf and McIlroy has admitted that they these two aren’t ‘rivals’ as Woods has won a lot more titles and been around for many more years than himself.

If both can play well though, then we might just see them teeing-off with each other on the Sunday and they could go head-to-head for the prize. McIlroy is available at 12/1 to win the Masters.

Bubba Watson was the winner at Augusta last year and he can become the first man since Woods in 2001/2002 to claim two titles in a row. The bookmakers have the American at 40/1 to come out on top here, so he is certainly good value.

Of course, you can’t rule out the ever-impressive Phil Mickelson as he has three wins to his name in this tournament. The left-hander was tied third last year and is available at 16/1 to go two better this time out.

In terms of some other British hopefuls, you have Justin Rose at 20/1 to claim the title and with the consistent golf he has played over the last few years, there could be some value in the Englishman.

Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Ian Poulter are all looking for their first Major victory as well and can be backed at between 30/1 and 50/1 to break their duck this weekend.

Other names worth mentioning at this stage are Keegan Bradley, Charl Schwartzel, Adam Scott and Dustin Johnson as all are being offered at 28/1.

With over 90 players likely to be in action at Augusta on Thursday, the tournament is a tough one to predict, but if Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are on top of their game, we might just see something special from the two best players around.

Expect a superb atmosphere from the American fans and plenty of twists and turns during the four days of play.

The Masters is never anything but a cracking occasion and with so much to look forward to in this one, it could go down as one of the best in recent years.
