The WGC Cadillac Championship Golf : Tiger Woods heads the odds as Schwartzel, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose & Luke Donald head chasing pack

It’s the The WGC-Cadillac Championship as William Hill make Tiger Woods favourite, with Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose chasing, as the firm announces a free bets offer for its new customers.

W are all set to be a cracking four days of golf with the money on offer official for both the PGA and European tours.

Some of the world’s best golfers are in action in Doral and there are plenty of contenders to win this famous trophy. The course is set up so that birdies are there to be made, but there is also the chance things can go horribly wrong, which is part of the reason for this being one of the most popular Championship events around.

Justin Rose was the winner here last year and he will be looking to become only the second man to win consecutive titles in this event. Rose is currently being tipped at 17/1 to come out on top here, so he is good value.

is no doubt that the Englishman has the quality, but beating Tiger Woods looks as though it is going to be tough as the favourite has won this compeition more times than any other.

Woods is available at 12/1 for the win and he seems to enjoy playing on the Blue Monster course.

He has struggled so far this campaign, but in Miami, he is sure to be a big contender and with course favouring big-hitters, it does suit his game.

Rory McIlroy is ranked as the number-one player in the world, but he is out at 25/1 to win at Doral this week after an extremely poor start to the season.

He of course walked away from the Honda Classic last week, a decision he regretted in the end and now, he has to show that his change of clubs during the off-season hasn’t affected the way he plays.

This is a massive few days for McIlroy and he has to be in contention to get his campaign underway.

Luke Donald is never a man to be taken lightly in these big events and although the Doral course does favour the big-hitters, you have to say that his short game could be key during these four days.

Donald is easing into this season and this will be just his third start of 2013, but he is good value at 22/1 for the win.

Charl Schwartzel is then available at 17/1.

There are a number of other possible contenders that all have decent odds and the likes of Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar are all capable of doing something here.

Johnson’s game looks as though it is going to suit the Blue Monster and he is at 35/1 to win, whereas Mickelson is a 28/1 shot and not many need telling just how much he relishes shining on the big stage.

As for Kuchar, he is at 25/1 and after winning an event last week and finishing in the top ten during his last three appearances in this event, could be a decent outside bet.

With these players being the ones to catch the eye for this WGC-Cadillac Championship, it shows you the quality involved and there are a number of other players that are capable of winning here.

It should be a cracking tournament.
