With January approaching fast it’s always good to see lots of speculation surrounding players, not least of all strikers. The following list of ten strikers are those that have been rumoured to be on the move but seriously unlikely during the January transfer window.
1. Carlos Tevez
The most likely of all strikers that will leave their current club this season and the question still remains where and for how much. Last summer City wanted around £40m, some say they still do but with his attitude problem they will probably rip your arm off for £25m. Possible destinations include Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
Value: £25m +
Likelyhood of departure: 99%

2. Robin van Persie
Although it’s very unlikely that RVP will leave or be allowed to leave in January, money always talks and with reports suggesting a possible £70m odd from Real Madrid you just never know. With a year and half on his current contract it may be worth it but the amount of goals he is scoring for Arsenal at the moment one could claim he is currently priceless.
Value: £70m +
Likelyhood of departure: 0%

3. Wayne Rooney
A player that has found it tough of late although netting two against Wolves last week will have helped. the England international has always been linked with a move to Spain, particularly after it emerged last season that he was not happy. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for him in the past and also recently.
Value: £70m +
Likelyhood of departure: 2%

4. Didier Drogba
Drogba is a player who is currently still in talks with Chelsea over a new deal and it does not look to be forthcoming. At his age he could be available from £8m upwards but with the African Cup of Nations a move will certainly not happen this January.
Value: £8m +
Likelyhood of departure: 5%

5. Fernando Torres
Poor form and a lack of goals from the Spaniard has led many to suggest he would be on his way out. Although Chelsea recently claimed he was part of the long term future, the player himself may have other ideas and may look for a move back home. Atletico Madrid and Malage are reported to be keeping tabs on his situation – or lack of it.
Value: £20m +
Likelyhood of departure: 25%

6. Gonzalo Higuain
What a difference a year makes and in Higuain’s case this could be his last year in the Spanish capital. He can still score but does he fit in with Real’s long term plans? No one really knows and interest from Chelsea, rumoured to be that of a £30m bid could be enough to tempt the Spaniards into allowing him to go.
Value: £25m+
Likelyhood of departure: 30%

7. Karim Benzema
Another Real Madrid striker who has been linked mostly with Arsenal, the Frenchman now looks to be the favourite of Jose Mourinho and with their campaign on course for a medal or two the chances that Benzema will go just after Christmas are remote.
Value: £25m+
Likelyhood of departure: 0%

8. Dimitar Berbatov
The Bulgarian has had a frustrating season at Old Trafford so far and his contract is slowly coming to an end. There are teams that will be interested in services for the right price but with the option of getting him for much less in the summer, and Ferguson not wanting to deplete his squad, Berbatov will probably still be a United player February 1st.
Value: £10m+
Likelyhood of departure: 25%

9. Andy Carroll
The Liverpool striker came with a big price tag and of course Liverpool overpaid for the Newcastle man but will they sell in January to recoup some cash? possibly if they get close to what they paid for him but no one will look to pay even close to the £35m they splashed out.
Value: £10m+
Likelyhood of departure: 3%

10. Roman Pavlyuchenko
Whilst he may not slip into most’s top ten strikers who could be available, he was the only main one we could think of apart from Tevez who is close to 100% departure. The form of Adebayor and Defoe has left Pav on the sidelines and there is a lot of interest, particularly from Germany that could see the Russian head out of White Hart Lane.
Value: £6m+
Likelyhood of departure: 99%
