Fernando Torres insists that he can find his best form again this season, after having a disappointing end to the last campaign.
Torres made a £50m move to Chelsea from Liverpool last January, but managed only one goal in 18 appearances for the Blues.
Carrying on this form, the striker has failed to score in any of Chelsea’s pre-season fixtures thusfar, but is confident in his ability to find the back of the net:
I’m 27. Don’t worry I don’t forget to score goals… I will score.”
“We are starting a new season with a new manager with new people around the team and it’s time to be fit and ready,” he added.
Despite the lack of goals, Torres’ teammate and skipper, John Terry, is confident that his forward will succeed in the season to come, commenting: “I think that’s unfair on Fernando, he had the injury he sustained at the World Cup and came into the season with that.”
Terry also noted: “He’s happy, there’s a bit of pressure on him but that’s why he’s one of the best strikers in the world. He wants to win the Premier League, that’s one of the first things he said to me.”
