Torres set to make Anfield return?

Reports in Merseyside claim that former star striker, Fernando Torres could be set for a shock return to Liverpool following a dismal spell in Italy with AC Milan.

The Spanish striker joined Pippo Inzaghi’s AC Milan earlier this season on a season long loan from Chelsea but changing leagues hasn’t really helped him out with El Nino managing to find the back of the net just once in 10 outings.

During his stint with Chelsea whom he signed for from Liverpool, Torres scored just 20 league goals in 110 games and looked a shadow of the striker that lit alight the Premier League while donning the colors of The Reds.

And with the Reds having striking problems of their own with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini failing to score, Brendan Rodgers is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing back a player to Anfield where he might be given a last chance to resurrect his flailing career.

Meanwhile, any chances of Liverpool getting their hands of Marco Reus are all but over after the German forward reportedly agreed a deal with Real Madrid whom he would join next summer from Borussia Dortmund.
