Tottenham enjoyed a good start to the group beating Norwegian side Tromso 3-0 at White Hart Lane a fortnight ago and Andre Vilas-Boas could feature a similar squad that picked up a win.

Despite some hopes over their fitness, it seems that both Aaron Lennon and Danny Rose will be major doubts for the tie as they continue to recover from ankle injuries.

Unsettled striker Emmanuel Adebayor has recovered from an illness that kept him out of the 1-1 draw with Chelsea over the weekend but is still unlikely to make the trip to Russia.

Anzhi are a shadow of their former selves with side having failed to win any games since May and only managed to pick up a draws in their opening game against Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol.

The team are also no longer full of their international superstars with Willian, Yury Zhirkov and Samuel Eto’o all departing the club over the summer.

The cash-strapped club will also be without several key players with towering striker Lacina Traore ruled out of the tie with a shoulder injury whilst Alexander Epureanu and Ilya Maksimov also out of Thursday evening’s tie.

Meanwhile, Swansea will be looking to carry on their good form in Group A with a win over Swiss side St. Gallen on Thursday night.

The Jacks will still be without several key players such as Pablo Hernandez and Ashley Williams who are still inured whilst Angel Rangel and Ronald Lamah are also doubts for the game.

St Gallen have enjoyed a steady start to life this season and will be hoping that Goran Karanovic will be able to add to his impressive record of 8 goals in 13 games as he looks to help cover for the loss of Sven Lehmann who suffered a broken league last week.

In Group D, Wigan will get their best chance for a win in the competition as they take on Slovenian champions Maribor at the DW Stadium.

Wigan will be still be without several key players for their home European debut as Ali Al-Habsi, Stephen Maloney and Grant Holt are all still sidelined with injuries.

But Maribor may struggle to capitalise on Wigan’s injuries as the game will mark the first time that boss Ante Simundza has taken charge of the side following the club’s decision to sack Ante Cacic over the weekend despite leading the national league.

With all three clubs facing lesser known opposition, the teams know that they might not be presented with a better chance to pick up 3 points in the rest of the group stages.
