Tottenham boss expecting Modric stay

Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, claims that he doesn’t expect Luka Modric to be anywhere except White Hart Lane when the transfer window closes.

Spurs have already rejected two bids from Chelsea for their prized midfielder, and are said to be looking to sign a midfielder and a forward before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Both Redknapp and Spurs’ chairman, Daniel Levy, are desperate to keep a hold of the Croatian international, but could be tempted by Chelsea’s latest offer that would see Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun coming in the opposite direction.

The Spurs boss noted: “There is no sign of him going. If he doesn’t go it’s an area we need to strengthen and we have one or two irons in the fire.”

He added: “We are trying (to get players in). We have some names and we are trying to get one or two in. We need to do a little bit of business.”
