Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly ready to make a £16million bid for striker Leonardo Daimao, according to the Sun. The 22-year-old plays for Brazilian side Internacional and has scored 22 goals in just 24 appearances for the club and has also made 2 appearances for the Brazil first team.
Spurs are in need of signing a striker following the departure of Robbie Keane to L.A Galaxy earlier this summer and Redknapp is also said to be unimpressed with forward Peter Crouch who scored only 4 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season. The North London club are believed to have a relationship with Internacional following their purchase of midfielder Sandro 2 years ago, and are ready to exploit the relationship to bring Daimao to the Lane.
Reports had linked Tottenham’s local rivals Arsenal and Spanish giants Barcalona with the Internacional forward; however it seems Tottenham’s relationship with Internacional would give them the advantage over both of the linked clubs.
