Tottenham capture Brazilian youth signing

Despite winter rumours saying that the defender would join Serie A side genoa this season, Tottenham have pounced to complete the signing of Bruno Uvini.

The youngster will move to White Hart Lane on a three-and-a-half month loan deal but reports are claiming that the Sao Paulo starlet will then transfer to the North London outfit on a permanent deal.

Uvini has made only eight appearances for the Brazilian outfit since graduating from their academy in 2010 but he has quickly built a reputation for himself.

The 20 year-old is also captain of the Brazil Under-20 side and has featured for the side on 16 occasions.

If Uvini were to complete a move to the Premier league, his signature would be expected to cost Spurs an estimated £3.1m and with the long-term future of Ledley King thrown into question once again, the starlet may be brought in as centre-back cover.

King’s contract will expire at the end of the season and with the player yet to enter negotiations with the side, it’s anyone’s guess how much longer the England international will be offered at the Lane, if he receives an offer at all.

Sebastien Bassong is one defender who certainly looks on his way out of Harry Redknapp’s side and is currently on loan at Wolves in search of more first team football.

With news emerging of Eden Hazard’s apparent intent to move to Tottenham, supporters of the club can definitely be happy at the youthful revolution that appears to be taking place there.
