Sunderland are on 30 points and haven’t won in six, whereas Norwich are just three ahead of them and have only won once in their last twelve league games.
The Canaries have failed to score in six of their last eight matches as well, so it is tough to see a high-scoring 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Cats know how important a win would be to give them a bit of breathing space, but a victory for Norwich will see them all but safe, so both sides should go all out for the win, although a draw looks good value at 5/2.
Then, Tottenham Hotspur entertain Fulham in a London derby and Spurs will be looking to ensure they end the weekend in third with another win at White Hart Lane.
They had a tough evening in the Europa League against Inter Milan on Thursday, but still qualified for the quarter-finals, despite losing 4-1 on the night.
One man was missing from that game – Gareth Bale – and he is sure to come straight back into the starting line-up. With the form Bale is in and with how much Spurs missed him during the week, he will be the key man here. He is at 3/1 to break the deadlock
Fulham have only won twice away from home this season and are one of five teams on 33 points right now, so would like to move away from that group.
As ever, Dimitar Berbatov needs to be on top of his game in order for the Cottagers to take anything from White Hart Lane.
Wigan Athletic are desperate for a win this weekend when they host Newcastle United at the DW Stadium.
The Latics currently sit in the relegation zone and are three points adrift from safety. Although they have a game in hand, Roberto Martinez knows this is a must win as his men have only take the spoils once in the league this year.
Newcastle will be fatigued after their Europa League tie with Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday night, but should also be full of confidence after Papiss Cisse’s late winner. The Magpies are at 5/2 this weekend.
Finally, Chelsea take on West Ham United in what is the pick of the fixtures on Sunday. Chelsea were also playing in the Europa League on Thursday and had to work hard to make it through to the final eight.
This is a game where the Blues needs to be taking three points though as they could be just two clear of Arsenal by the time it kicks-off.
As for West Ham, they are another side on 33 points and would love nothing other than to all but secure their Premier League status with a win at Stamford Bridge. It will be tough, but they did win the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Bring on the action on Sunday.
