Sources suggest that Arsenal and Tottenham are battling it out for the signature of Bolton centre-back and England international, Gary Cahill.
The North London rivals have both had their share of defensive woes over the weekend, conceding 13 goals between them.
Arsenal made a bid of £6m for the defender last week, an offer that was laughed off by Trotters boss, Owen Coyle, but the Gunners are thought to have returned with a £10m proposal.
The Scot commented on his prized defender’s status, noting: “I can tell you I won’t buckle. I have had a chat with Gary. He knows my opinion. We don’t have to be taking poor offers. If someone makes the right offer, then we can do business.”
