Tottenham Hotspur manager claims Mata just after better wages
Tottenham Hotspur has hit out at new Chelsea signing Juan Mata suggesting he only joined the West London club as they offered him more wages.
Mata arrived in the UK yesterday to undergo his Chelsea medical and is believed to be unveiled later this week. Whilst Redknapp admits they tried to bid for him and were close to a deal, the Spurs manager feels the winger changed his mind once Chelsea came in with a better offer.
“We were in for Mata and close to doing a deal. But he didn’t come and Chelsea came in, obviously they can blow you out of the water wage wise, and then he changes his mind and they get him. It’s all about wages.”
