Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on two strikers identified by Harry Redknapp as must-buys for the next season with Espanyol’s Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Lyon’s Lisandro López on the verge of joining the North London side.
Redknapp is desperate to complete the deals for both Argentine’s so he can begin off loading those no longer required including Robbie Keane who has already been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers. Spurs are also wanting to sell Kranjcar and Pavlyuchenko with Palacios’ move to Italian Serie A side Napoli all but confirmed.
Tottenham initially wanted to purchase at least one striker during the January transfer window but prices were high and Redknapp and Levy felt it best to wait until now to make their moves. They are in a position to purchase both goal scorers however will need to offload other players to make the payments to both Lens and Espanyol.
Lisandro is likely to cost around £18m although there is still some discussion regarding a move due to the fact he would prefer Champions League football. Osvaldo has really come from nowhere but the 25 year old has impressed many English teams in the short space of time he has been with the Spanish side and looks to now be on the move to White Hart Lane after joining the La Liga side in 2010.
It is believed that the likes of Lisandro and Osvaldo linking up with Peter Crouch and Rafael van der Vaart could have devastating effects in the Premiership next season and the transfers are likely to be completed and confirmed at the beginning of July.
