Tottenham Hotspur planning £22m double raid on La Liga

Negredo could be available for £18mFootybunker.com have been informed that Tottenham Hotspur are considering an approach for both Alvaro Negredo of Sevilla and Ibrahim Afellay of Barcelona.

Barcelona are currently in the process of trimming their squad to make funds available for the acquisition of Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Afellay has been quoted as one player who could be moved on, despite only joining this year and could cost the White Hart Lane side around £4m.

Negredo, who will be 26 in August has netted 31 league goals in 73 appearances for Sevilla and could cost up to £18m for the striker, however Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is still required to sell some of his players before anyone can be brought in and whilst Negredo is highly rated, the Spanish side are keen on a swap deal that might include Giovani dos Santos but no contact between the clubs has yet been made.

Redknapp will first need to depart with Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane to be able to make up the £18m Sevilla are likely to accept.
