Tottenham Hotspur seeking left sided cover and opt for Wolves winger

Tottenham want cover on the left flank and sources suggest they will approach Wolves for Matt JarvisWolverhampton Wanderers are preparing themselves for a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for 25 year old winger Matt Jarvis.

The left winger has been at Molineux since 2007 picking up well over 100 appearances and has been subject to speculation from numerous mid table clubs. For Tottenham however, who have to embark on a full Premiership season on top of a Europa League campaign are looking to add some more strength in-depth although they will release those deemed not good enough.

Another issue for Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp is that of Steven Pienaar who has been affected by injury since moving from Everton in January and he is also set to be operated on. Should Pienaar not recover fully in time for the new season then Redknapp would like some cover for that area.

There is also the situation when Gareth Bale is not available. As shown towards the end of the season Spurs do miss the Welsh star when not on the field and Redknapp will want to be able to keep his options open when Bale is not fit.

Although Wolves manager Mick McCarthey will want to keep hold of Jarvis, the temptation of European football for the 25 year old may be too much to ignore.
