Tottenham Hotspur to try and tempt Liverpool defender into London return

Johnson has not been too involved with Liverpool this season owing to injuryTottenham Hotspur could be ready to try and bring Liverpool FC right back Glen Johnson back to London and a reunion with former manager Harry Redknapp.

The 27 year old defender joined Liverpool in 2009 but has this season been unlucky where injury is concerned and has managed just a quick fifteen minute appearance against Stoke City this campaign. Whilst he remains Liverpool’s top choices for the right back position it is unclear as to whether he can regain his position with the likes of Martin Skrtel adapting well enough in that area plus the young reds defender John Flanagan also coming through the ranks.

Tottenham meanwhile are looking for a defender who can play across the back line and with Johnson able to play both left-back and right-back he seems to be the top choice at the moment. Whether Harry Redknapp will be able to tempt both Liverpool and his former player into coming back to London remains to be seen but it could be assumed that the finishing places of both sides at the end of the season could have a huge bearing on any decision.

Tottenham will wish to keep the player monitored though as they will not want Johnson if he is to spend the majority of his time on the treatment table.
