Tottenham Manager Excited over Possible Transfer

Harry Redknapp has backed Emmanuel Adebayor to win over the Tottenham fans and become a success at the Lane, if a loan deal from Manchester City is confirmed. The deal is suggested to be close as Spurs have been in talks to bring the former Arsenal forward for some time now.

Redknapp has left the matters of this transfer to chairman Daniel Levy and confirms that he does not know what stage the deal is at.

“The chairman is dealing with that so I haven’t got a clue where it’s at,” he said.
“Whether it is done, nearly done or not being done, I really don’t know.”

The Spurs boss rates Adebayor highly, as he was impressed with the player when they met whilst Adebayor was on loan at Real Madrid last year. Tottenham could not handle the Togolese striker in Madrid as the player went on to score against Spurs.

“He’s a good player, a real talent; there is no doubt about that. If we could get him at it, he could come here and be a big success,” said Redknapp.
“He’s got a big point to prove, really, he’s got to get back to the form he showed at Arsenal.

“He certainly showed it at Real Madrid last year. We couldn’t handle him out in Madrid unfortunately. He’s a real talent.”
