Tottenham Hotspur may have to wait until January if they are to land Netherlands international Ibrahim Afellay with Barcelona prepared to keep the 25 year old board to monitor his progress during the first half of the season.
Afellay only joned the Spanish giants at the beginning of 2011 from PSV Einhoven but still made an impressive 16 appearances for the club. However, with the amount of talent Barcelona currently have on the flanks the player realises that gaining first team action will not be easy and would be interested in a move.
Barcelona though would prefer to keep him on for the time being to see how he progresses after a pre-season with the club and would consider a sale should no improvement be made by January.
