Tottenham priced out of move for Spanish sensation

Athletic Bilbao look almost certain to retain the services of their Spanish international striker, Fernando Llorente, after telling Tottenham  they won’t accept any offers under £32m.

This has led Spurs to revive their interest in Villareal forward, Giuseppe Rossi, who they thought was too expensive for their budget.

Tottenham are keen to bring another striker to White Hart Lane, after Roman Pavlyuchenko, Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe managed only 18 goals between them last season.

However, sources suggest that Spurs may have to sell before they can buy, with the likes of Wilson Palacios, Crouch and Niko Kranjcar all linked with departures, in an effort to bring about the £28m needed to buy Rossi.
