Tottenham refusing to budge on Star

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has ruled out the possibility of star Luka Modric leaving the club, and insists he is not for sale. Chelsea became favourites to sign the Croatian, despite having bids up to £30m rejected.

The Tottenham manager has made no secret of his desire for Modric to stay, however the playmaker was left out of Monday’s game against Manchester United after he revealed that Modric’s “head was not right”.

Redknapp made it clear after the match that he felt Spurs chairman Daniel Levy should attempt to convince Modric to stay and clear the air.

“The situation is he is not for sale,” Redknapp said.
“The chairman has made that clear and even yesterday when I did speak to him he said Luka definitely wasn’t going, and that was the end of the matter as far as he was concerned.
“He’s got to start playing now. That’s what we need.”
