Tottenham remain interested in Bundesliga talisman

Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham Hotspur are once again being linked with a move for Werder Bremen winger, Marko Marin, with a reported interest in a summer move.

The German international has been associated with a move to White Hart Lane in the past with fellow Premier League sides Manchester United, Liverpool as well as North London rivals also thought to have scouted the starlet.

However, Marin has so far remained at the Weserstadion and a Werder Bremen player since making a move to the club in 2009 from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 22 year-old’s contract with Werder will expire at the end of next season and rather than lose their player on a free transfer, the Bundesliga side may decide to cash in on the attacker while interest in his transfer is high.

Marin has struggled to replicate past form in this campaign, blighted by several small hip and groin injuries and failing to piece together a string of success.

However, in his previous two seasons with Werder Bremen, Marin made over ninety appearances racking up 26 assists and netting on 12 occasions.

Sources have suggested that Aaron Lennon is being sought after by clubs and with the usual speculation regarding the future of Gareth Bale, wide reinforcements could be needed for the North London side.

Niko Kranjcar, Rafael van der Vaart and David Bentley could also head for the White Hart Lane exit this summer and after Harry Redknapp hinting at big signings in the near future, a move for Marin could be feasible.

It would take a reported £13m to lure the German international youngster away from the German top flight; something Spurs may be easily be able to afford should they offload some of their fringe players.
