Liverpool make the journey to North London on Wednesday evening to take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane which looks to be the feature game on a busy night of action in the Premier League.

The two teams will be fairly content, but not overly happy with how their 13 games in the English top flight have gone so far.

Spurs did manage to end their three game losing streak last time out though as they beat West Ham United 3-1 at the Lane and Andre Villas-Boas will now want another victory here to move closer to the top four.

Tottenham currently sit in seventh place and are five points adrift of Chelsea in fourth, so they need a good run of results to close the gap – the return from injury of the creative Moussa Dembele in midfield is also super news for Spurs fans.

Jermain Defoe is in a good bit of form right now and scored another two goals against West Ham on Sunday, which moved him up to seven for the season in the top flight. The striker was ably assisted once more by Gareth Bale, who once again found the net in what was another blistering performance.

As for Liverpool, they are now on an eight game unbeaten run in the Premier League, something which is sure to please Brendan Rodgers.

However, only three of these matches have seen the Reds take maximum points and Rodgers knows that the draws must be turned into wins if they are move up the table as they currently sit in eleventh place.

Some of the football the Merseyside club have been playing in recent weeks has been of the highest quality, but it seems as though if Luis Suarez does not score, then they struggle to find the net.

The Uruguayan has ten goals this campaign and has also scored five of Liverpool’s last six goals. He is sure to be a key man in this one, but the home side look worthy of the money tonight at a nice looking price of 11/10,

It makes for an enthralling encounter between two teams that, on their day, can be a match for anyone in this league.

Elsewhere, Manchester United face West Ham at Old Trafford as Alex Ferguson looks for a convincing win after the Red Devils failed to impress in a lacklustre 3-1 win over QPR on the weekend.

There is no doubt that Sam Allardyce will have his side set out in a disciplined manner as they make the visit to Manchester.

Defeat to Tottenham on the weekend signalled the end of the Hammers four match unbeaten run and the odds of 12/1 for the away win tonight speaks volumes.

Things are getting a little desperate in the north east as Alan Pardew’s Newcastle look to to stop the rot, with only win win in eight and three defeats on the bounce leaving the Toon down in 14th place in the table.  Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse seem to have lost the scoring touch  but Fabricio Coloccini should return to the side after suspension.

Stoke are a mean and well organised outfit however,  and Tony Pulis will want to continue the Potters three game unbeaten run as the evens on the home win looks a very attractive proposition.

It all gets underway from 7.45PM on Wednesday.
