The latest Tottenham v Man Utd odds with William Hill reporting their 4/1 on Wayne Rooney to score and Man Utd to win is attracting plenty of attention from savvy punters.
Tottenham are slight 19/10 underdogs to win against Manchester United as Spurs aim to end one of their worst ever goal droughts in the Premier League against the defending champions.
It seems a long time ago since Tottenham were challenging for the top spot in the league but the home side could get their season back on track if they are able to defeat a Manchester United side who have finally got themselves going.
David Moyes’s side are currently down in ninth place in the league although could move a little closer to the European places with a win at White Hart Lane.
It’s not going to be very easy though as Andre Vilas-Boas’s side has been hit by an injury crisis which has been compounded with the loss of Emmanuel Adebayor to a groin injury.
With Adebayor out, it means that the Tottenham injury crisis is increased to four players with Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Harry Kane all out on the sidelines.
It means that several more familiar names are once again expected to feature in the squad including Jermain Defoe, Kyle Walker and Paulinho who will all be out to end Spurs four game goal drought.
Whilst Spurs have been in freefall, Manchester United are starting to get back to where they want to be and a win will put them firmly back in the Champions League spots.
David Moyes will receive a welcome boost i the middle of the park as Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to return to the starting lineup with his one match suspension having been completed.
Moyes has also revealed that the influential figures of Nemanja Vidic and Robin van Persie could also return to the squad after missing the past few games through injury.
Other than that, there aren’t many changes expected to be made to the side that dominated Bayer Leverkusen in Germany on Wednesday night.
There will also be a few eyes on Ryan Giggs on Sunday afternoon as the Welshman celebrated his 40th birthday earlier in the week and would be keen to add to his tally against the Londoners who he has scored 10 times against – more than any other side in the league.
With the pressure building more and more, Tottenham will know that they will need to find the back of the net against United otherwise it will be the reigning champions who will be celebrating on their way back after the final whistle.
