Valencia and Tottenham go head to head in what should be an entertaining friendly match on Thursday evening as Ladbrokes announce a free bets offer and report Tottenham are easing in the running for the Premiership title.
Both teams look to find some form ahead of the new season, as punters it seems have not been impressed with goings on at White Hart Lane in the off season.
With both teams known for their attractive, attacking and entertaining style of play, this is definitely one of the more fascinating friendly matches, and fans and backers of both sides will be hoping for some glimmers of hope.
Looking at Tottenham to begin with, they are of course getting used to life under new manager Andre Villas-Boas and this is a good test of how far they are progressing.
Spurs v Valencia Odds: Ladbrokes Free Bet Offer
With a whole host of club friendlies to get stuck into, plus the Olympics, Ladbrokes are celebrating with the launch of a new £50/€250 free bet offer to all new customers, to spend on any event! Exclusive to all Footybunker.com visitors – Claim here!
Results are not too important at this stage of proceedings of course, but if Spurs are to have a successful season, you would think they need to hit the ground running. Therefore, a slow start would be extremely frustrating.
In terms of their aims for the coming season, a top four finish is the priority and anything else is a bonus. They will also be hoping that the Villas-Boas affect can be more positive than it was for Chelsea last season.
As for Valencia, they have the near on impossible task of beating either Real Madrid or Barcelona for the La Liga title. They were the closest team to doing so last year of course, they finished third, but they were still 30 points behind second place.
However, with a good start, you never know what can happen. Even if they were to challenge for the title it would be quite the achievement. Therefore, much like Tottenham, they need to start the new campaign on a positive note.
Looking at the pre-season results of these teams so far, Tottenham are unbeaten so far and appear in good spirits. They registered a decent 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls last time out too, so will be in confident mood going into the clash with Valencia.
As for the Spanish side, they too are unbeaten, although Tottenham represent arguably their toughest challenge yet. After a penalties victory over Porto last time out, they are now stepping up the competitiveness.
Overall, it should be a competitive and entertaining friendly on Wednesday evening.
