Chelsea are preparing to offload both Paulo Ferreira and José Bosingwa as they look to launch a bid for Dutch right back Gregory van der Wiel.
Ferreira has been at the club since 2004 after arriving at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho and although he is considered to be a loyal servant to Chelsea, the side are looking to freshen things up with much younger players. At 32 he certainly has the experience and is by many preferred in that position than that of Bosingwa.
Bosingwa though is in a slightly different situation with the right-back previously highly rated and at one point even considered one of the best right backs in the World. He has however failed to live up to such a high billing and it is believed the Portuguese international could be on his way to Spain this summer.
This paves the way for van der Wiel to make the right back slot his own and although Chelsea are apparently facing competition from Manchester United for the 23 year old, sources indicate that Chelsea are in pole to land the former Harleem defender for the start of the new season.
