Looking back at Murray’s performances in this tournament so far, there is no doubt that he has had to work hard to get to the final, having to come back from one set down on more than one occasion.
The World No.4 has been turning on the style at key points during matches though and this has led him to another Grand Slam final. Now, it is time for one last big effort in 2012.
As for Djokovic, he too had to fight his way out of a tough, weather interrupted semi-final. The reigning Champion was locked in a tough battle with Spain’s David Ferrer on Sunday before eventually winning reasonably comfortably in four sets.
The Serb will now hope that two matches in two days won’t be too detrimental for him as he aims for yet another Grand Slam title. He will know that Murray will be in determined mood though and overall, this should be quite the final.
For Murray, he will look to draw on the experience of winning the Gold Medal at the Olympics last month. He defeated Roger Federer on this occasion and a similar performance, with immaculate temperament will give him a good chance.
All eyes will be on Flushing Meadows from 8pm this evening.
