We are into round three at the US Open as Laura Robson raises British hopes, beating Kim Clijsters in the shock result of round two, as we bring you the latest live stream options from Flushing Meadows.
The women’s draw may not get as much attention as the men when it comes to the Grand Slam tournament, but the entertainment on show should be tremendous.
After Wimbledon and the Olympics coming in reasonably quick succession, the final Grand Slam of the year is upon us and the best players in the world need to try and raise their game once again.
Looking to complete a hat-trick after wins at Wimbledon and London 2012 is Serena Williams. The American – who has secured the US Open title three times before – is the player to beat over the next two weeks, no doubt about that.

She manages to intimidate her opponents like no other. Her serve is the biggest that the women’s game has ever seen too, so Williams is in a very good place right now, cruising into the third round with victory over US compatriot Coco Vandeweghe 6-1, 6-1.
Aiming to beat her to the title at Flushing Meadows is Victoria Azarenka. Having began the year with a famous Australian Open win, she would love to prove her worth with victory in the US Open. Things are going to plan for the World Number one, cruising into the third round with a 6-2 6-2 victory over young Belgian Kirsten Flipkens.
Azarenka will have to overcome a poor record in this tournament though and this could let in Maria Sharapova. A tremendous talent on her day, the Russian has had a mixed year, but she is more focused than she has been for a while.
She looks a sure thing for at least the semi-finals, as she raced into the third round with an emphatic win over unseeded Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino 6-0 6-1 in just under an hour.
Making up an extremely competitive line up, you then have Petra Kvitova – who has reached two Grand Slam semi-finals this year easing into the next round dispatching Alize Cornet 6-4 6-3– and Li Na, the 2011 French Open Champion, who also made it to round three and a match up with British hope Laura Robson, who dispatched Kim Clijsters in the shock of round two..
Angelique Kerber then showed her massive potential during Wimbledon, while you can never rule out the likes of Agnieszka Radwanska or Venus Williams.
So, Serena may be the one to beat, but there will be plenty hoping to fight it out for a place to beat the home favourite. This is the last chance of glory this year and all players should be ready to bring their best game. Nothing else will do.
