Van Gaal looking to axe a few players this January

According to widespread rumors, the Manchester United manager is set to axe a few of the younger players in the squad during the January transfer window

The future of youngsters, Tyler Blackett, Reece James, Jesse Lingard, Paddy McNair and Andreas Pereira  seem to be up in the air at the moment with reports claiming that the youngster might be allowed to leave Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal seeks to build a new United team in his own image.

All these youngsters featured in the first team this season but Van Gaal is not really confident about the chances of them making it to the starting XI on a regular basis.

Blackett and McNair have featured frequently this season but haven’t really made a huge impact at the club.

However, Van Gaal might send the youngsters out on loan spells in a bid to give them another chance to prove their worth to him and his footballing philosophy.

Jesse Lingard started the first league game of the season against Swansea City at home but was injured in the first half and since then, has struggled for fitness and form. And, Van Gaal no longer sees him as a prospect for the future and would be willing to sell him during the January transfer window which is going to be quite a blow for the youngster who really had a promising start to his senior career with the Red Devils.
