Van Persie to decide Arsenal fate next week

Robin Van Persie will make a decision on his Arsenal future next week according to a Footy Bunker source amid reports that a bid has been submitted for the striker.

With just 12-months left to run on his contract Van Persie has yet to sit down with Gunners officials to discuss an extension as he is on holiday with his family following his involvement with the Dutch squad at Euro 2012.

Talks are likely to begin when he returns and it’s thought a decision on whether to leave North London will be made as early as next week with Italian champions Juventus waiting in the wings.

The Old Lady are desperate to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season with the 28-year-old emerging as their principal target following a prolific campaign that saw him head the top-flight’s scoring charts.

The Serie A side also have Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is also on their shopping list and will turn their attentions to the Uruguay international should  they fail to sign Van Persie.

The Holland international’s future at the Emirates Stadium has been the subject of intense speculation throughout the summer with  Juventus rumoured to have offered £8 million for his services on Monday.

Premier League winners Manchester City are also interested in signing Van Persie but chairman Peter Hill-Wood has said that no clubs have been in contact with an offer.

“As far as I am aware nobody has made any offer for him and he is away so we are not in any dialogue at all,” said Hill-Wood. “We’re not in the remotest bit interested in selling him.”
