Villas-Boas not worried over lack of transfer activity

New Chelsea manager, Andre Villas-Boas, insists he is not worried about the club’s lack of summer signings, despite Premier League champions, Manchester United, making three big-name signings.

The club have had two bids rejected for Tottenham star Luka Modric, but the Portuguese boss is confident in his current squad, stating: “You have to take into account in six years the amount of trophies this club has won and the dramatic change this club has suffered in the last eight years, it was a dramatic change that brought success.”

“It doesn’t mean that we are not looking to strengthen the squad or to bring players in, it just means a different approach to the market. We have 15 more days before Stoke and 31 days before the market closes,”  he added.

The 33 year-old, who had a very successful campaign with Porto last season, sees his first bit of Premier League action against Stoke on August 14.
