The start of a new week brings plenty more transfer gossip and there are some interesting rumours coming out of the world of football today.
Paris Saint-Germain look as though they are going to lose manager Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid, but the big-spending French side are keen to bring Andre Villas-Boas to Paris.
The current Tottenham Hotspur boss would be tempted by a move to Ligue 1 and a big factor in this story is whether PSG can sign Gareth Bale from Spurs.
The Ligue 1 champions want the Welshman and are willing to pay around £85 million for his services. If they do sign Bale, then PSG would be confident that Villas-Boas would follow the winger to the French capital.
Both Real Madrid and Manchester United might have an eye on this story though as they have both been keen on Bale during the summer transfer window and that could mean we see a bit of a bidding war.
Elsewhere, Arsenal have emerged as the favourites to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, who will cost around £25 million.
Gunners’ fans have been frustrated in the transfer market over the years, but if they were to land the Argentine, then the Emirates Stadium would be a happy place. There is going to be competition from Juventus for Higuain, but Arsenal have the cash needed to bring him to the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger is also willing to give Manchester United’s out-of-favour winger, Nani, another chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
Nani is also wanted by Galatasaray and it will be interesting to see where he decides to ply his trade next season.
Luis Suarez is a man that is going to be in the headlines a lot of the summer and he has yet again hinted at a move away from Liverpool, saying the club’s lack of Champions League football and title challenges is a concern.
The Uruguayan is currently on Confederations Cup duty of course, but a move to Real Madrid seems to be his dream and if the La Liga giants are willing to splash the cash, we could see Suarez on the way out of Anfield.
In other transfer news, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are all set to lose out on target Robert Lewandowski as the striker looks as though he is going to remain at Borussia Dortmund this season.
The Poland international’s contract is up next summer and Dortmund seem happy to let it run-out, which is likely to mean Lewandowski will head to Bayern Munich this time next year.
Finally, AC Milan’s Robinho could be about to leave Serie A and move back to his native Brazil to join Santos as the Italian club want to bring in the funds to try and lure Carlos Tevez away from Man City.
Tevez doesn’t seem to be 100 per cent happy at the Etihad and he could be about to join former teammate Mario Balotelli at the San Siro.
There look to be some big names coming into and leaving the Premier League in the next couple of weeks.
