Theo Walcott has confirmed that he is ready to negotiate with Arsenal over the possibility of a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have lost several key players in recent months, as want-away players like Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy all finally departed the club over the summer.
However in contrast, 22-year-old Walcott is ready to discuss matters over a new contract with the North London club as his current deal expires at the end of next season.
He said: “I will listen to what Arsenal have to say.
“Hopefully we will sit down with the club soon and talk things over.”
Following a shocking start to the season, Arsenal have now looked impressive as Arsene Wenger’s side have won 6 of their last 7 games in all competitions.
Walcott insists that following their sudden improved form, the spirit in the Gunners camp are high as they believe they have put their poor start behind them.
“The team morale at Arsenal is great – the best it’s ever been,” he added.
“To be honest, we have forgotten about the first few games. There is no point in dwelling on it.
“All we can do now is look at what is coming up. And it is looking very positive at the moment. Everyone needs to be alive at what is going on during the game.”
