Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Samir Nasri will be in the squad that will play Liverpool this Saturday, despite reports that the French International is close to a long awaited move to Manchester City.
Nasri has returned to the squad for the game at the Emirates after missing out on the Gunners’ 0-0 draw away to Newcastle last weekend due to illness. Meanwhile City are reportedly locked in talks with Arsenal over the midfielder, with Roberto Mancini revealing that he is hoping to complete a deal very soon.
On the other hand Wenger insists that he is ready to include Nasri in his sides starting line-up against Kenny Dalglish’s side due to injuries to key players Wilshere, Rosicky and Diaby limiting his options in midfield. Also Alex Song and new signing Gervinho have both received 3-match bans because of violent conduct during last week’s opening fixture with Newcastle.
“The only thing I can say is that Nasri is in the squad tomorrow and available to be picked and play,” said Wenger.
Meanwhile Arsenal have also confirmed the signing of Costa Rican International forward Joel Campbell, 19, from Deportivo Saprissa.
