Watford captain extends his stay at Vicarage Road

John Eustace has signed a two-year contract extension with Watford.

The midfielder had only a year left to run on his previous contract, and with Derby showing renewed interest in their former loanee, Watford offered their captain an extended deal.

Eustace made 42 appearances for the Hornets last season and netted six goals in the process. The 31 year-old has been a regular in the Watford setup since his £250,000 arrival from Stoke City in 2008.

Speaking to the official club website, Eustace stated: “The Hornets are delighted to announce that captain John Eustace has extended terms on his current contract until summer 2013.”

Watford begin their Championship season at Turfmoor as they go up against Burnley on August 6.
