Wenger to break his own rules by signing Bundesliga hitman

Klose has the experience and knows how to score goals but will Wenger seriously try and sign him?The scene is set and reports from the South of Germany are claiming that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will break his own transfer rules this summer by signing 32 year old Germany and Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose.

The striker, who will be 33 years old this summer, has always had the reputation for scoring goals and should our source be correct then it seems Wenger will have the player on his books on a year’s contract with the possibility of an extension should things go well for the 2011/2012 season.

Whilst Klose is obviously reaching the end of his career he can still score goals and would I be wrong in thinking that with Klose up front, crosses from both left and right may now be met by the head of a seasoned goal getter? The game against Liverpool the other week was certainly one where numerous crosses were fired in without an end result, perhaps Klose is the right man for the job? They certainly could have done with him against Bolton, a player who when 6 yards for the goal line will shoot and not pass yet again.

Klose has fired in 24 goals for Bayern Munich since joining them in 2007 and although his age may initially concern some fans, an experienced head up front, coupled with his goal scoring abilities it would seem an intelligent short term option for the North London club.
