West Brom Blackburn Odds : Yakubu to lead Rovers Premiership relegation fight at Hawthorns

Blackburn travel to the Hawthorns on Saturday to take on an out of form West Brom side, with the 3/1 on the away victory sure to attract punters attention.

Blackburn find themselves back in the relegation zone, whereas Roy Hodgson’s men will want to pick up all three points to move away from the dreaded drop zone.

The Baggies have now not won since beating Chelsea in March and athough they are still eight points clear of the bottom three, this is a massive game at the Hawthorns as they could still be dragged into trouble.

It seems Hodgson does have one eye on next season after a bid for Rangers striker Steven Naismith was rejected by the SPL champions.

West Brom will be looking at their remaining home games as winnable with Blackburn, QPR and Aston Villa the next three visitors to the Hawthorns. If the Baggies don’t pick points up from these, they could be in a bit of trouble.

As for Blackburn, they managed to pull away from the relegation zone, although recent results have dragged Steve Kean’s men right back into it.

Rover’s hung on until the 80th minute against Manchester United last time out, but in the end the Champion’s persistence paid off. Blackburn were unlucky to find United’s goalkeeper David De Gea in good form as the Spaniard made a few great saves just before half-time.

Kean’s side have followed back to back wins with back to back defeats and they now sit level on points with fellow strugglers QPR and Wigan.

West Brom ran out 2-1 winners when these two sides met earlier in the season after a late winner from Peter Odemwingie. It’s been six years since the Baggies last beat Rovers at home, so they will be desperate to put this right at the weekend.

It is a massive game at the Hawthorns and it all gets started at 3pm on Saturday.
