West Brom Chelsea Odds : Baggies look to big to ignore against stuttering Blues

Chelsea will be desperately seeking all three points to keep up the pressure on Arsenal in 4th place when they travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom this weekend as Bet365 make them 10/11 to take all three points back to London.

The Blues picked up a desperately needed win against Bolton last weekend with efforts from David Luiz, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard earning them all three points. Under-fire boss Andre Villas-Boas will be looking for the same again this weekend with some huge games to come in March.

They won’t have it all their own way however when they go up against a West Brom outfit that have bagged an impressive nine goals in their last two games, with five coming against local rivals Wolves before the Baggies put four past an in-form Sunderland side last time out.

The result against the Black Cats will have come as a particular relief for manager Roy Hodgson, who recently lamented his side’s form at the Hawthorns, describing it as the worst he had experienced in his lengthy time as a manager.

Chelsea are now outside of the top four and the automatic Champions League places by virtue of goal difference thanks to Arsenal’s 5-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday, but with Arsenal going up against Liverpool at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick off, they’ll have their sights set on making it back into the driving seat for European qualification.

Worryingly for Chelsea, one of the bright spots of their season, Daniel Sturridge, was forced off in England’s friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday night, with interim Three Lions boss Stuart Pearce describing the injury as a ‘blow on the toe’. It seems he will have a late fitness test ahead of this weekend.

As for West Brom, they may be able to call upon Chris Brunt, who hasn’t played for the Baggies since the 1st January, while Paul Scharner and Jerome Thomas appear to winning their race to be fit in time.

Overall, this has the makings of a Premier League upset, but Chelsea will be hoping to put in a professional performance to get a crucial win.
