According to reports, West Bromwich Albion have completed the signature of former Dundee United starlet, Scott Allan for an undisclosed fee.
Sources claim that the Baggies had been chasing Allan for a relatively short period, but wasted no time in bagging their man.
Allan impressed greatly during his time in Dundee and was apparently being scouted by some of England’s elite, including Manchester United.
Although full details of the deal are not yet available, the transfer will supposedly have cost West Brom around £300,000.
However, the West Midlands outfit don;t look set to stop there in regards to attacking force, as the club are apparently seeking to cut a deal for Burnley’s in-form forward, Jay Rodriguez.
Allan offers all the advantages of a promising young midfielder, capable of playing in an attacking midfield position as well as on the wings.
The 20 year-old isn’t expected to be thrown into first-team plans immediately, but given the recent injury to Chris Brunt, the young Scot may find appearances easier to come by.
Allan is also a part of the Scotland Under-21 set-up and in 2011, made four appearances for the side.
It’s understood that the youngster turned down moves to SPL giants, Celtic and Rangers, and instead opted for a move to the Premier League which he apparently sees as a huge step up in talent.
Speaking to Talksport, Allan stated: “I’ve turned down the chance to play for Celtic and Rangers to play in the best league in the world.”
