West Brom preparing player-plus-cash deal for European goal machine

In what is the latest twist in an ongoing transfer saga, Rangers front man Nikica Jelavic will once again become the subject of a heap of transfer bids this January, with West Bromwich Albion set to offer the latest temptation.
The deal would consist of a £5m cash bid, but would also include Scottish winger, Graham Dorrans, moving in the opposite direction.
Dorrans, a Scotland international, is thought to be high on  the wish list of Rangers boss, Ally McCoist, with the player also expected to favour a move to his native SPL.
The attacker has failed to feature as significantly for the Baggies this campaign as he has in past seasons, making ten of his 15 Premier League appearances from the substitutes’ bench.
Speculation is also mounting around the Croatian international after the forward was left out of the squad to face Motherwell over the New Year weekend.
McCoist acknowledges the omission and says that the absence was due to a groin strain Jelavic failed to recover from, however some remain sceptical given the high amount of interest in the player.
The swap deal could benefit both parties greatly with Dorrans keen on joining the Scottich outfit and the notion has been suggested that Jelavic is hoping for a move away after enduring a summer’s worth of speculation.
Roy Hodgson’s relationship with Baggies forward Peter Odemwingie is thought to be under heavy strain at the moment and the former Fulham boss could be looking to Jelavic as a replacement forward should the Nigerian leave.
The Croatian would be an adequate alternative too, already boasting 28 goals for Rangers despite only playing in 43 games.
