West Brom v Swansea Odds : Michu and Bony to fire Laudrup to away win

West Brom take on Swansea City in the lunchtime kickoff as Paddy Power release the latest West Brom v Swansea odds, with Michael Laudrup’s side attracting plenty of money in the betting.

The popular Irish unit report that their price of 15/8 on the away win is seeing plenty of attention as the Welsh side hope to have Michu and Wilfried Bony up front to bolster their attack.

Its been a relatively slow start for both these sides, but there’s no doubt the Welsh club will see this as a perfect opportunity to pick up their first points of the season.

The Baggies welcome Michael Laudrup’s Swansea City side to The Hawthorns.

Between them the sides have only one league point.  Both sides were tipped to fare well after robust showings last season.  With neither side performing at their best there will be plenty to play for between the two sides.

Steve Clarke’s side will be boosted however, with Nicolas Anelka set to return to the starting line-up to bolster the Baggies attack.

Anelka missed both the Capital One Cup victory over Newport on Tuesday which saw the midlands club run out 2-0 victors and also last weekends draw with Everton.

But having returned from compassionate leave after the sudden death of his agent, he is set to lead the line for the home side.

Matej Vydra, the Udinese striker who played with Watford last season, was injured in the League Cup game so Steve Clarke will be relieved that the Czech Republic international’s place can be taken by the returning Frenchman who should partner Republic of Ireland international Shane Long in attack.

Welsh goalkeeper Boaz Myhill looks set to start for the home side despite suffering a wrist injury.

His absence would mean a huge headache for Clarke as he is already missing Ben Foster, the England player out for three months with a stress fracture in his right foot.  That’s not the only injury concern that West Brom have to contend with though, Zoltan Gera and George Thorne are both missing with knee problems.  Former Republic of Ireland international Steven Reid also looks likely to miss out with a knock.

Michael Laudrup did not risk Ashley Williams , Jonjo Shelvey or Wilfried Bonyin the Europa League game with Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti on Thursday night.

The triumvirate of players were all carrying minor injuries, but with the tie effectively over with the Welsh side taking a comfortable lead into the game from the first leg, risking the trio wasn’t deemed necessary.

Recently signed right back Dwight Tiendalli could also make an appearance for the Welsh side.

It had seemed that the Dutchman’s days at The Liberty Stadium were finished when he and hs agent could not agree terms to a contract extension at the start of the summer, but a surprise turn of events saw the Netherlands international return ahead of the closure of the Summer transfer window.

However two players unlikely to feature are Nathan Dyer and Neil Taylor.  Taylor is currently endeavouring to recover from a thigh injury while Dyer is still out with a hamstring injury.

Home advantage possibly won’t be telling in this game, expect Swansea to find an end product to their fractured but at times fluid passages of play this season and return to Wales with all three points.
