West Ham have confirmed that long-serving midfielder, Luis Boa Morte, has left the East London club by mutual consent.
The former Portuguese international made over 100 appearances for the Hammers, and had a year left to run on his contract but has been allowed to seek opportunities for playing elsewhere.
Boa Morte stated: “I am sad to leave West Ham as I have made a lot of friends here. It is also a sad day for me to leave playing football in England after 14 years.”
Boa Morte first played for Arsenal in England and isn’t ready to retire yet, adding: “I am looking forward to a new challenge. It is never too late to try somewhere and something different. There are high and low memories – the low ones only make you stronger – now it is a fresh start for me.”
