West Ham talisman set to reject Premier League interest

Scott Parker has delighted West Ham fans after it emerged that he had told the club he is ready to stay at Upton Park next season.

The news comes just a day after club chairman, David Gold, announced that the club would definitely be signing a striker before the transfer window closes on August 31.

Parker was expected to make a move back to England’s top flight this summer, with Tottenham a very likely destination. However, it appears that new manager Sam Allardyce and his injection of Premier League transfers has been enough to keep the midfielder at West Ham.

The club have been playing well in pre-season under Allardyce, most recently playing out a 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza, where the 30 year-old was a standout player.

Gold commented on the matter, saying: “I can say for certain that we will at least bring in another striker,”

“We will not leave a stone unturned to get the players Sam wants, as was the case with those we have brought in already,” he added.

Cameron Jerome is a name being associated with the Hammers, with Birmingham City adamant to offload some of their larger wage bills, following the financial and legal troubles of club owner, Carson Yeung.

Fulham are understood to have submitted a £4m bid for the 24 year-old.
