West Ham chairman, David Gold, has said that the club will sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes on August 31.
The team has seen a flutter of Premier League additions so far this summer, with Kevin Nolan, Matt Taylor and Abdoulaye Faye all brought into Upton Park under new manager, Sam Allardyce.
Names being associated with the Hammers are the likes of John Carew and Jermaine Beckford. The club have already had a bid rejected for Reading’s Shane Long.
Gold spoke to West Ham’s official website, stating: “I can say for certain we will at least bring in another striker,”
“We will not leave a stone unturned to get the players Sam wants, as was the case with those we have already brought in,” he added.
West Ham begin their Championship season against Cardiff City this Sunday.
