Who should Chelsea purchase this January?
Last January saw Roman Abramovich try to take control of the transfers and he purchased Liverpool’s Fernando Torres for £50m. At the time it may have seen like a desperate move to get the Chelsea bandwagon moving again, it didn’t work and some twenty league appearances later, Torres still hasn’t found any sort of form worth talking about.
As always Chelsea are not afraid to splash the cash if need be and there looks to be a deal for Gary Cahill in place already. With Drogba, amongst others ready to head to Africa, and Anelka looking to be heading somewhere in China, one could assume that Chelsea will want a striker with immediate effect but the Higuain deal looks to be one that will only materialise seriously next summer.
